Working Foreman – Utility Crew

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Working Foreman to join our 4-person utility crew. This person is responsible for leading a 4-person pipe crew in the installation of underground utilities including water, sewer, and storm systems. This position requires a working foreman who can both manage and participate in daily field operations. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and hands-on experience in underground utility construction.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise, coordinate, and work alongside crew members in the installation of water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systems.
• Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and grade stakes.
• Ensure that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and to company and project specifications.
• Operate and oversee the use of heavy equipment, including excavators and loaders, as needed.
• Manage daily work schedules, material needs, and equipment assignments.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, equipment operators, and inspectors.
• Maintain accurate daily reports and ensure jobsite documentation is complete.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
• Lead by example to promote teamwork, professionalism, and a positive work environment.
  
  

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in underground utility installation with at least 1 year in a leadership or foreman role.
• Strong understanding of pipe installation procedures, trench safety, and grading.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Capable of using electronics to fill out reports and view drawings.
• Must possess strong communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly.
• Work in sitting, standing, kneeling, or crouched positions for extended periods.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
